DJ van Wyk  

 DJ, is a multidimensional leader whose journey bridges science, finance, architecture, and hands-on construction. 

Beginning in toxicology and pollution with a master’s degree, DJ transitioned into London’s financial markets while simultaneously running a successful architectural and building firm in the UK.

After leaving finance to focus fully on the built environment, he brought his design eye, strategic grit, and on-site experience to the Australian construction sector.

As a graduate of Harvard Business School’s prestigious Online CoRE program, DJ now holds a QBCC Open Site Supervisor,  and QBCC Carpentary Contractor licence. He has also attained a Cert IV in Building and Construction,an Advanced Diploma in Building and Construction (Mgmt), and a Cert III in Carpentry. 

His passion lies in creating practical, scalable solutions that empower builders — not bury them in complexity.

That passion gave rise to Build X, a purpose-built platform designed to help SME builders cut through admin and compliance barriers. 

By fusing digital workflows with real-world building challenges, Build X reflects DJ’s belief that small and medium-sized builders deserve tools that work as hard as they do.

Backed by deep industry knowledge and a relentless drive to innovate, DJ continues to build smarter ways for builders to thrive — one project, platform, and solution at a time.

 Our Director of Design is a former RIBA Chartered Architect and accomplished designer whose career is defined by precision, passion, and a deep commitment to timeless design. 

Graduating Summa Cum Laude, she distinguished herself early on through exceptional academic achievement, and her talents were soon recognized with several prestigious awards in the UK.

Currently advancing her expertise through the Institute for Interior Design, she continues to bridge architecture and interiors with an eye for cohesive, human-centered spaces. Her work rejects one-size-fits-all solutions in favour of design that resonates — thoughtfully crafted, functionally elegant, and emotionally engaging.

Her philosophy is simple but profound: quality should never be compromised for convenience.
